Air Fryer Spicy Chicken Recipe Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup soy sauce, salt reduced (66 mls)
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (62.5 mls)
- 2 tbsp honey (40 mls)
- 2 tbsp hot chilli sauce, e.g. Tabasco or Sriracha (40 mls)
- 1 lime, juiced (30 ml)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (6 grams)
- 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated (8 grams)
- 500 grams chicken thigh fillets
- 4 spring onion, thinly sliced (40 grams)
- 2 tbsp black or white sesame seeds (32 grams)
- 400g basmati rice
Air Fryer Spicy Chicken Recipe Method:
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, honey, chilli garlic sauce, lime juice, garlic and ginger.
- Separate ยฝ a cup of the marinade and put it to the side. Add chicken thighs to the large bowl and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Remove two thighs from the marinade and place them in the basket of the air fryer.
- Cook at 200 degrees celsius until thighs are cooked through, 15-20 minutes.
- Transfer thighs to a plate and cover with foil. Repeat with the remaining two thighs.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat bring the remaining ยฝ cup of marinade to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sauce slightly thickens, 4-5 minutes.
- Cook rice as per instructions on the packet.
- Brush sauce over thighs and garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve on top of rice.
